For as long as I can remember I have had to shop in ‘plus size’ stores. ‘Plus size’ meaning stores filled with the most unattractive, unflattering, overpriced, fashion backward, shapeless, clothes known to humankind.

And i’m not sure what the ‘plus size’ stores are like in other countries but here in Australia, you would be forgiven for thinking that you had accidently walked into an army surplus store, it’s just rows & rows of clothes that look like tents, in a multitude of unappealing colours.

I don’t know who designs for these ‘plus size’ stores, i’m inclined to think that it’s some person who has never picked up a fashion magazine & who thinks that the height of fashion is to somehow re-design a chenille bedspread into a marquee, a marquee big enough to house a squadron of paratroopers that is.

And I absolutely loathe the fact that I have to shop in a special store just because i’m fat. It makes me feel like i’m fat therefore I have special needs. It’s like the fashion equivalent of that kid at school that needed extra tutoring to keep up with the rest of the class.

So along with the 5,621 other reasons I want to lose weight, being able to shop in any clothes store is right up there in the top 5.

Because how delightfully lovely would it be to be able to walk into a store, without having to worry about sizes, or being too fat, or rude shop assistants & pick one of these outfits:
